More than 27 years comprehensive experience in international development cooperation with regional focus in Southeast Asia in the fields of food security, management of natural resources, private sector promotion and agriculture value chains and emergency aid.

Food security from 2015 to 2019 Head of Project and Country Director for Welthungerhilfe in North Korea in the fields of food security, disaster risk reduction WASH and emergency aid.

After returning in 2019 from an assignment in North Korea Lars Düerkop is currently freelance engaging in the ValueLinks Association (member since 2010).

From 2010 to 2015 he worked as Senior Project Manager at ICON-INSTITUTE Cologne, Germany designing and implementing Value Chain projects. He acquired his first relevant experiences during his work as program coordinator for the German Development Cooperation.

From 1996 to 2010 he worked for Deutscher Entwicklungsdienst as coordinator implementing agriculture development projects with value chain approaches. In value chain development, I’m specialised on developing pro poor approaches and stakeholder dialogues.

Furthermore, developing project comprehensive approaches with Value Links Systems. Spoken Languages:
