CEO and Principal Consultant at BCaD Consulting Management PLC - a company he established in Ethiopia in 1998. Afework is a specialist in SME diagnosis and capacity building, a trainer and analyst in agricultural value chains with ValueLinks approach, a quality management expert with six sigma green belt, entrepreneurship trainer, supply chain management trainer and moderator of workshops to mention but a few. In a nutshell Afework is a private sector development expert. Moreover, he has served as a board of director in the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and other organs of the private sector like financial institutions. Meanwhile he has had opportunities to actively involve in policy reform influence circles. Afework has extensive experience in other Sub-Saharan African countries also in Value Chain Training and Analysis, Entrepreneurship Training delivery and conducting market research in North Africa and the Middle East. With a total of 35 years of experience in the private sector development out of which 10 years in the public sector, 3 years for GIZ and the last 22 years as a consultant, Afework has specialized in SMEs and value chain development.
