Local Economic Development /Value Chain Advisor for GIZl under SEDIN programme in Nigeria, Ogun State.

Mr. Idahosa is an Agribusiness/Market Development Specialist with extensive experience in profitable value chains ranging from producers organizations, financial institutions, input dealers, large scale agro-processors and market development. He has worked in several projects on Entrepreneurship Development for SMEs, Renewable Energy and Capacity building for a number of private sectors and International Organization. He enjoys more than 10 years of professional experience in project development and management, working with rural communities on agricultural enterprise development projects and private sector market development. Idahosa has helped implement a number of rural development and livelihoods programs, including among others the GIZ-SEDIN-funded Cassava Value Chain Development Project, CBN-funded Entrepreneurship Development Project for SMEs and other Private Sector-Led Projects where he provided market linkages for smallholder farmers using the commodity chain approach. He designed a number of livelihoods options for vulnerable communities as alternative source of income generation.

Idahosa’s innovative approach to agricultural development has yielded positive outcomes such as increased productivity and improved input-output markets. As a Value Chain Specialist, with GIZ-SEDIN, he coordinated the implementation of markets development activities for cassava and housing construction value chain through collaboration and establishing networks with producer groups using value chain development approach.

He joined the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in 2013 as Value Chain Advisor where he facilitated the formation of Commercial Cassava Farmers Group and Market linkage for their product, thereby creating employment and increased income of the low income earners.

Before joining GIZ, he has worked with Central Bank of Nigeria Entrepreneurship Development Centre as Micro Enterprise Specialist and Toughstuff International (Renewable Energy) as Regional NGO Manager, West Africa.

He holds a master degree in Computer Science and Business Administration (with specialization in marketing and entrepreneurship).
