I have 23 years of experience in various interventions in agribusiness, policy development and skills development programmes in Africa including training, agribusiness advisory services and national strategies and concept development. I have played the role of steering, strategy development and implementation of agribusiness programmes and projects in Eastern and Southern Africa.
I worked as GIZ-seconded Senior Technical Advisor at African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) & Regional coordinator or East & Southern Africa for CAADP ATVET (Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ATVET/W) Module. I led the design and development of systems and policy processes for Agricultural Training with CAADP ATVET project in 12 African countries.
I am a founder member International Value Links Association, Germany and Chairperson of Value Chain Professional Association Africa. Since 1998 I have worked in various organisations in Africa. My experience spans from Agroforestry and rural development to Competency Based Education and Training Approach, Agripreneurship, Business Development Services (BDS), Value Chain Development, Private Sector engagement, Participatory Economic Farm Planning, Environmental Impact Assessment, land use planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Resource mobilisation /Acquisition.
I have worked with several African Governments, stakeholders, and private sector players on agribusiness policies, curricula, and delivery tools for agriculture training. The specific focus of my 23 years of development work was in Benin, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Togo and Uganda among other countries in Africa.
I hold a Pre-Doctorate Certificate in Entrepreneurship from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya, a Masters degree in Environmental Studies (Agroforestry and rural development), and a Bachelor of Education Science, the latter two from Kenyatta University in Kenya.
