Independent Consultant, trainer and facilitator of Value Chain, LRED, SME development. Has more than 25 years experience on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) development. Provided trainings and consultancy services to local government units, national government agencies, NGOs.

Miriam Bacalso is currently working as Regional Coordinator of the Promotion for Green Economic Development (ProGED), a GIZ Project in the Philippines. Prior to this assignment, she worked with the GIZ Private Sector Promotion Program, also in the Philippines. She was tasked to implement the different components of the Program in the Central Visayas region of the country; this included Value Chain Promotion, an approach used to enhance the competitiveness of the various sectors in her area of assignment.

She has over thirty years of experience in SME development having worked with the Department of Trade & Industry and different Business Membership organizations. She has also worked with other international development organizations, all of which focused on private sector development.

She conducts Value Chain orientation workshops for national government agencies and business membership organizations and conducts workshops on various Value Chains in the different provinces of the country.
