André has worked has over 25 years’ experience in pro-poor economic development, the past 15 years in value chain development. He has lived and worked in Botswana, Zambia and Vietnam and has done short-term missions to many countries in Africa and Asia, the main ones being Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Malawi, Madagascar, Mali, Kirgizstan, Tadjikistan, India and The Philippines. He is currently a value chain expert for Fair and Sustainable Consultancy in The Netherlands and provides long-term backstopping to different projects in Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Mali and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Additionally he does short-term missions in other countries. His main focus is on developing and monitoring M4P based interventions, training and backstopping project staff in M4P approaches, value chain analysis, result chain development, strategy development and developing of monitoring systems.

André is a strategic thinker who connects strategy and practice in a way that these feed each other and thus new ways of making things work are created, promoted and rolled out. He is particularly committed to and inspired by finding new ways to link market mechanisms with pro-poor interventions.
