Björn Schüler is former employee of ECO Consult and currently as freelancer for ECO in Sierra Leone in the Pro-Poor Growth for Peace Consolidation Program (GPC), funded by German Development Bank (KfW). The project builds infrastructure along selected value chains in various districts of Sierra Leone. He holds a Master (Bachelor and Master) in Sociology and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Björn Schüler has a long-standing experience in the field of economic development specialized on value chain development, SMU development, project accounting, development of accounting and change management. He is familiar with the private sector as well as governmental cooperation, especially German technical and financial cooperation (GIZ, KfW). He has profound knowledge of value chain development under various settings and as Value Links trainer for different target groups (donors, government, user groups, consultants). Value chains Mr. dealt with are mainly NTFPs and agricultural value chains as well electronical goods. His regional experience covers: Brazil, Germany, India, Mongolia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and his working languages are English and German. French skills are acceptable. Besides his consultancy he his member of the board of several trading companies, acting as strategic and financial planner and consultant. At ECO Consult he also facilitated the change process of the accounting section.
